Center for Metal Protection and Electrochemistry (Vietnam – Belgium)
The Center for Metal Protection and Electrochemistry was established with the funding of the Kingdom of Belgium through the CUD Research and Development project “Building” a strong center for research and training in the field of metal and electrical protection. chemistry at the Institute of Tropical Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology” (2014 – 2017). The center was opened and officially put into operation on April 8, 2015.
The center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for synthesizing nano-sized additives, assessing the ability of coatings to protect against corrosion. The Center’s research staff is trained and improved through doctoral training programs, exchanges and internships at Mons University and the Free University of Brussels, Belgium.
The Center has the task of training staff in the field of metal protection and electrochemistry, researching and developing environmentally friendly anti-corrosion protection technologies, developing new technologies to test and evaluate quality. products, strengthen the development of scientific cooperation with paint factories and paint-using facilities.
Currently, the center has started implementing a new project (2020 – 2024) with the aim of becoming a focal point for propaganda and application of environmentally friendly technology in the industry of corrosion protection of metal materials.
